Misdemeanor

A serious matter.

While Misdemeanor level crimes are thought to be the least significant, they must be treated very seriously as they can carry a sentence of up to a year in jail and can have even more far-reaching effects when it comes to future employment. Depending on the crime, Misdemeanors can also lead to loss of driving privileges, loss of professional license, lifetime sex registration, deportation of a non-citizen and additional jail time if there is a future violation of Probation.

Protect yourself.

If you or a loved one have been charged with a Misdemeanor level crime, do not take it lightly. You should immediately speak with an attorney who will vigorously work to protect your rights. Do not make the mistake of believing that it will take care of itself, only to find years later you are still paying for what was a relatively minor incident.
